In France we ate at the restaurant (*Michelin) at the castle we stayed at. It is called Chateau Mercues and is in the Cahors region.

Sarah ......... I have also stayed at Chateau Mercues while in Cahors. What an amazing place. Stayed there while we toured Cahors for wine tasting.

Yes Bruce, it's quite the place. I felt like a princess in a castle :) Did you enjoy the wines or those from their sister estate Ch. Haut-Serre?

Sarah .......... trying to remember ......... but yes, Haute Serre was one of the first wineries we visited, along with St. Didier-Parnac (F&J Rigal??), Chateau de Grezels, Chateau Eugenie, Montplaisir, Lagrezette, Clos Triguedina, and my favourite Chateau du Cedre . Was a wonderful visit.

Felt like royalty at Mercues ........... and the pool was perfect after a hot June day of tasting. I know they had their own wines / cellar but we never toured their facilities. Although I believe we had a bottle or 2 of their wines at dinner.
