Good to know! I'm looking forward to getting my little piece of the action in 3 months! (or so)

Really ? How/where are you receiving updates ? Did I miss something ? I'd hoped to have heard some updates this far into '09.

btw, I recall being pleasantly suprised with the Vayniac Cab that Stu brougt to the Ft Mason offline last Dec.

To get the updates, you need to create a user account on Crushnet and then sign up as a member of the Vayniac Nation group.

Thanks. Not sure how I missed that all along. Wish that info had been in a sticky...maybe we need more moderators :D

And just think; it's just sitting around somewhere, with no one to drink it. . . .

Come on, gents. Patience. It's one thing wine people excel at. We buy bottles to drink when our newborns are 21, for crissake.

I'm very patient in aging wine, and I have plenty to drink while I'm waiting for this one.

On the other hand, this seems like longer than usual to wait after paying for a futures order. At least interest rates are down, so the effective cost of the wine has only gone up by couple of bucks per bottle.

Probably because we bought this wine while the grapes were still on the vine. I don't think that's usual in the futures world. As I write that, I'm thinking how much of a sucker I was. :D

You paid for great Napa grapes in a FANTASTIC vintage. If this is the worst you ever get "suckered" then you may count yourself lucky.

Considering the long delay since the bottling (3 months, with no real word of an arrival date), the fact that some of the buyers are getting restless should be understandable.

Good point

I just hope it is sent before the holiday travel season; hate to see bottles sent back as folks would be less likely to be around to wait on delivery :tmi:

For me it's just going into the cellar, not to be touched for quite a while. Like GeneV I prefer some age on wines and there's a bunch to work on until this and a few others are ready. What's another bit of wait time, really?

:( It's all about control.... I paid my money,, and at this point I'm getting itchy do get them in MY cellar,, where I know they will be taken care of,, pampered,, caressed,,, until I think they are ready to bring me the enjoyment I've longed for all these many years....

I love my wine,,, I really do. :$

So we are now about a month away from seeing the "fruits of our labor" and one thing is puzzling me. Twenty barrels of wine from the four vineyards were filled in the varietal proportion set by what was harvested (if this basic premise is wrong tell me otherwise, but all the statistical data that was available from Crushpad during the fermentation and aging supported this). After the aging and "blending sessions" were completed, Crushpad sent out notification that twenty barrels of finished wine were being bottled. Since the quantity of wine being bottled is the same amount as what we started with, logic tells me that the final blend (83% CS, 10% M, 4% PV and 3% CF) was what was harvested and had nothing to do with "blending." Am I missing something? :^)
