SOON! I hope. I am still working on a group for Sunday brunch. One is a Somm, One is a retired Geologist that helped with vineyards throughtout the state, one is an onwer of a huge cellar full of Cayuse, and one is the winemaker at Nodland Cellars. Still in the planning stages. But, anybody else would be welcome with open bottles!

Their Riesling is good, but a major pazzzzzzz at $25. Their red blend is good, lots of flavors. It includes Cab S, Cab F, Merlot, PV, Malbec, and Carmenere. It is really tight and young, should turn out to be a good one. Will keep you updated on the brunch thing. Four of us are doing a tasting in mid-March, so I will try and pin down a date or two.

Would I qualify as an honorary lame Spokanite lurker if I merely travel though your fine city two or three times per year on my way to and from Montana?

Actually, I'm going to be going through Spokane mid next week and was going to ask if you had any recommendations for a LWS that has a good selection of Washington wines. Other than the big names, I don't see too many Washington wines here in CA. I always stop at the Spokane Costco and they usually have a few WA wines that I don't see here, but recommendations for any other shops (preferably fairly close to I-90) would be appreciated.

Hello Gary. Yes u qualify! But not lame! Haha

There are a couple of places that aren't 2 far from the I-90 freeway.

Huckleberry's Natural Market @ 926 S Monroe. U just take the Lincoln st exit & Monroe is just 1 block west of there.

Vino A Wine Shop @ 222 S Washington. Just take the Lincoln St exit also & take 3rd St E till u get 2 Washington St which is just a couple blocks down.

Where do u go in MT? There are some pretty good places 2 go 4 wine there & they don't have sales taxes either!

If ur up 4 some vino when u come through town this time or next let me know. I'm sure vinsant & or myself would be available 4 a tasting!

James:

Thanks for your recommendations. It sounds like they are right downtown. Perfect.

I'm going to Superior, MT which is right on I-90 about half way between Missoula and the MT/ID border. Not too much decent wine to be found there. :(

I would like to be able to get together with you and/or Visant, but it's probably a no-go for me this trip. Maybe next time.

Let me know if you ever find yourself in the SF Bay area or the Nor-Cal wine country.

Thanks Again,

Gary

Yep bout pretty close 2 DT, plus there is a yokes that is just north off the arrogone exit.

Yeah that side isn't 2 good 4 wine. But if u go 2 missoula or bozeman they have some good selections.

Just pm me when ur in town
& we'll set something up.

Bummer tho I was just in san Fran last month!

Enjoy the trip.

Should have glanced here before I left Seattle last week. Was in Spokompton on Thursday night on my way up to Edmonton. Ended up drinking a nice Stevens Viognier out of a styrofoam cup at a hotel on Division.

Maybe next time.

Don't forget the pink Izod shirts with the collar up! It's about 25 minutes past George. My father-in-law's place is right next door to Butch Milbrandt's so we get some good dirt on all of the winemakers who buy their grapes...especially Charles!
